Spanish football continued to show its dominance as Valencia, Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid all advanced to semi finals of Europa League, with only the Portuguese team Sporting joining them in the last four.
Atletico Madrid outplayed Hannover in the 2-1 win despite playing in away ground. The Rojiblancos led 2-1 in the first leg and widen the gap by taking the lead at 63rd minute. The host replied with an equalizer, but in-form Spanish team bagged another goal to secure their place in the semi.
Valencia produced the night's most impressive display, turning the table around with the 4 star win over AZ although they lost 1 goal in the first leg. Valencia will take on fellow La Liga Atlectico Madrid.
The other semi will see the battle between Sporting and Athletic Bilbao, who completed the trio of Spanish clubs, after they twice came from behind to end the match at 2-2 and advanced to semi as they won the first leg 4-2. Another draw, 1-1, secured Sporting place in the semi with aggregated scored of 3-2.
